ShulCloud Payment Processing

ShulCloud Payment Processing

ShulCloud payment processing is handeled through a ShulCloud form which is auto-populated from the Purim Project member invoice.

How to setup it up

1. Produce your ShulCloud form with editable text fields from your Person Fields as follows (with the field names exactly as presented here):

2. Under Preferences (small gear on the top right) go to the Payments section and select the ShulCloud Form option.

3. Enter your form URL in the text box between the appropriate html tags. Here's a sample html that you can use (be sure to edit and enter your form URL information):

Click <a href="https://your_temple.shulcloud.com/form/purim-project.html" target="_blank" style="font-size: larger; font-weight: bold; color: blue;">here</a> to have your invoice information copied to the ShulCloud form for payment.

4. Save and test as a member.

What the Member Process Looks like

From the member's perspective the process will look as follows (beginning with the Purim Project invoice all the way to the email confirmation:

Updating Form Element IDs in ShulCloud

In the event the form in ShulCloud is reconfigured and new IDs or element names are assigned, it is necessary to go to Institute Settings and re-save the Member Payment Options. This will trigger the form parsing process again, ensuring the element IDs are updated.

Recording Payments

Since ShulCloud doesn't communicate back to Purim Project, we cannot automatically record member payments, and for the purpose of Finalizing orders we assume that once members click on the ShulCloud payment link, they will pay. It's possible that some members will abandon the process before paying, in which case before you print your Final Letters (aka Greeting Cards) you may want to identify if this happened and who to, by comparing ShulCloud payments with your Purim Project participants (can be done via Excel, and we're happy to support). To keep Purim Project up to date with payment information (if you so choose) you'll need to record a Credit Card payment for the member through Comsend, and then at the end of your campaign it'll be easy to identify those with a balence within Purim Project.

For the reason stated you probably don't want automatic order confirmations to be emailed to members, since these will indicate $0 paid, although your members submitted payment via the ShulClud form To avoid the confusion, if you record the member's payment through Comsend, at that time you can choose to send a Payment Receipt instead.

Keep unchecked!

Important Notes

Auto-charge Reciprocity is (so far) not an option with ShulCloud payment processing.
It's the customer's responsibility to inform us of any changes ShulCloud makes to their form handling to prevent any disrputions to your member payment processing.
