Members Self-Registration

Members Self-Registration

Admins might choose to use the self-registration features if they don't have a comprehensive database of members and want members to provide their own information for the campaign.

The self-registration process can take two forms:
  1. Email: an email goes out from Comsend requesting the recipients to forward the email to their friends who want to be part of the member list.
  2. Website Link: a self-registration link is published on your website.

Email Option

To share your link in an email you can either use our template for the self-registration email, or start a new email and embed the link wherever you want:

Our recommendation is for each person to register themselves vs. having others registering on their behalf to avoid duplicate entries.

Website Option

Alternatively you can copy the self--registration link and post it on your website. The link for self-registration can be found under Preferences.

Regardless of the method you use, anyone clicking on a self-registration link will be prompted to add their information for admin approval in a form similar to this:

Members self-registrations will appear in Comsend in the Management module in a section titled Self-Registration. The section can be expanded an minimized.

You can edit any self-registration entry by clicking the View Action Icon on the far right. Please note all the additional fields that you can edit that the member did not see, including the External ID which is important to populate if you normally use that field.

You can except the member from the View area or accept multiple members from the main table. Upon accepting, all migrations from the self-registration to the Member List are one-way and final.

You can disable the self-registration (even for those who already received the email with the link) through your Preferences. Through Preferences you can also choose to display your Categories to prospect members, if you have any, so that the during self-registration your prospect member can choose the Categories they're associated with (and you can change them after if you'd like).

Finally, on your dashboard you'll find notices regarding self-registration.
